Probably the last non-comic commentary on unquietmind.com

It has been an interesting experiment. We've learned a few things about writing editorials, about human nature, about what works and what fails. Suffice it to say, priorities have changed. We don't plan to publish any more long-winded editorial pieces. (We aren't accepting them from guest authors either.)
Maybe the writing wasn't polished enough, and too much in need of an editor. Perhaps it could have been more clever or deep. It's even possible there was too much heart, passion and venom in what we've published, and too little objectivity. Mistakes were made, but we don't regret this experiment. It is simply time to engage in other pursuits. We will continue publishing two Totalitarian Burger comics a week, more or less. (It doesn't take a lot of time or energy to crank them out.) We will probably write the rest of the parody CensorWear Chronicles. We may do the polls for awhile longer. It's possible that we'll run across other semi-worthwhile projects for this site in the future, but nothing that requires the kind of energy that attempting to compose thought-provoking editorials require. There are more fulfilling (and possibly more profitable) ways to make use of one's time. Besides, fascism, injustice and stupidity begs for a more direct answer than just publishing a few thread-bare opinions. |
